DESCRIPTION:
Seeking experienced OSCommerce outsource contractor group to install base framework, and then apply appropriate contributions plus some custom programming for fully completed sites (with the exception of some non-OSC web work)
- Configure OSCommerce administration to support this industry;
- Installing appropriate and available OSCommerce contributions and add-ons, for example export to QuickBooks, shipping support for UPS, import from Excel, etc. plus
- Building custom AJAX extensions to facilitate product search, detail, ordering/cart/checkout AND the home page's image links to marketing-related features of other contributions, add-ons, etc)
Basically, this should be a straightforward project for an experienced OSCommerce developer, very familiar with contributions and add-ons (free and for purchase), who's also savy with AJAX applied in OSCommerce.
REQUIREMENTS:
Proven experience with installing and customizing OSCommerce solutions; experience applying AJAX w/OSCommerce accessing product models
GETTING STARTED:
* Need version of OSCommerce you would be using and/or baseline data schema
* Need to know in a 2nd call what modules, contributions, boxes, etc. you have in your development bag that could be considered out of the box in this implementation, vs. what would need custom development
* I am prepared to engage immediately... target date to complete ~ 2 weeks
OSCOMMERCE SITE DESCRIPTION/STATUS:
- Online web business for company (grower) selling perennials bulbs and roots (flower starters) to nurseries, landscapers and garden centers.
- Have wireframes for product detail, product search and front end.
- Have spreadsheet of product attributes and graphics ready for ~1/3.
- CC billing only on items in season (product attribute or expected)
- Export to Quickbooks needed
- Wishlist (2nd cookie vs. cart) and Rate-this-product func. desired

Outsourced services to build and install a customized OScommerce implementation based on:
a. Template-based front end customized (see below)
b. Back-end administration Product Attributes standardized for this industry (and version of OSCommerce)
c. OSCommerce and Ajax contributions / extensions / add-ons supporting rich attribute search interfaces (using sidebar standard OSCommerce shopping cart)
d. Contributions / Boxes / Add-ons / extensions that we might use on the front end
e. Install
f. Billing on CC only for products in Bloom / Available
g. Easy batch import of product info
h. Export orders to Quickbooks (Enterprise version)

Process Phases:
a. Receive data model (or OSCommerce version #); Online quick conference to review materials and tell us your recommendations on appropriate contributions, extensions, add-ons, etc. to support both our product search, detail, and front-end marketing; Initial a payment schedule to outsourced contractor(s) w/deposit.
b. Install OScommerce back-end based with updated configuration; Install appropriate contributions, add-ons, etc. that can be applied immediately, along with product search and detail (or within a few days after – marks key milestone in schedule)
c. Update front-end based on customized code, using wherever possible contributions, add-ons or boxes as starter points.
